Hermelijn 40k doubles league

Every 2-3 weeks we will be holding a league night where all participants will get a randomly allocated partner and face off against another team. At the end of the league, after everyone has had the time to test out their army lists, the players can battle for final victory in a three round doubles tournament.

Players need to register for each league night up front by posting a message on the forum (player name, army name and codex) and sending their army list to the league coordinator (Jeroen aka Necron) via pm at least three days prior to the league night. Since this is a doubles event, we will need a multiple of 4 players. Slots will be filled in the order of fully registered players. Participation in a league night costs 1 euro while participation in the tournament costs 3 euro. These fees will go to price support. You can pay the fee at Hermelijn on the day off the event.

Each battle a player can bring up to but not exceeding a 1000 point army using a standard force organisation chart. Special characters are allowed. Players are allowed to change their army list and even which codex they use each league night. Each army can contain up to one forgeworld unit with a 40k approved stamp. If you use a forgeworld unit, have a copy of the rules with you during the game.

There will be 6 league nights (29/06, 13/07, 03/08, 24/08, 07/09 and 28/09). Each league night, players should try to be at Hermelijn by 19:30 so the battles can start at 20:00. After each league night, the date of the next league night will be announced. Each league night the mission and deployment will be rolled for and all battles will play this combination.

During the league battles each player in a team plays his own army as a seperate force. That means independent characters can not join units or embark in transports from your teammate, nor can you benefit from each others abilities. There are a few exceptions, mostly when your enemy is also affected by your special ability (epidemus' tally, astorath's ability to give red thirst to your opponent's blood angels on 1-3, ...). When in doubt, contact the league coordinator up front. If you and your teammate use the same codex, this restriction is lifted. In that case you play both army lists as one army (so only one chapter tactics ability, only one combat drugs roll, synapse range works also from your teammate's synapse creatures, sanguinary priest feel no pain bubbles affects teammates units, ...). When in doubt, contact the league coordinator at the start of the battle.

Winning a league battle earns each player of the winning team 3 points, losing a battle earns them 1 point and in case of a draw all four players earn 2 points. Each battle in the tournament will be worth 20 points, so that everyone participating in the tournament still has a chance at the title of best general.

The tournament will be held the 13th of october. Hermelijn opens at 10:00. Players should arrive at 10:30 at the latest so we can start the first battle at 11:00. The tournament will have 3 rounds. Each round will last for 2 and a half hours. Each round, after 2 hours, the players will get a warning not to start a new game round unless they think they can finish both player turns in the remaining time. Each round will have a primary (10 battle points), secondary (6 battle points) and tertiary (4 battle points) mission objective. Players that succeed in wiping out their opponent’s forces gain maximum battle points for that round, while their opponents still receive points for any mission objectives they succeeded in prior to their defeat.
When a mission requires objectives to be placed, the teams always roll off to see which team can start placing objectives. These objectives can never be placed within 9 inches of a table edge or within 12 inches of another objective. A scoring unit can never claim more than one objective.

Round 1
Deployment : Dawn of War
Primary : Each team gets to place 1 objective in their own deployment zone. Each objective is worth 5 battle points.
Secondary : Each team needs to destroy their opponent’s scoring units. Each team starts with 3 battle points. Add or subtract the difference in kill points from this result (min 0, max 6). Only count kill points for scoring units.
Tertiary : Each team needs to hold as much table quarters as possible. You hold a table quarter if your team has more victory points left in a table corner than your opponent’s team. Units that are spread over more than one table quarter count for the table quarter the majority of the model(s) is in. Use the full rules for calculating victory points. Each table quarter is worth 1 battle point.

Round 2
Deployment : Spearhead
Primary : Each team needs to destroy their opponent’s units. Each team starts with 5 battle points. Add or subtract the difference in kill points from this result (min 0, max 10).
Secondary : Each team needs to get their units in the opponent’s deployment area. Each team starts with 3 battle points. Add or subtract the difference in units that succeeded in reaching the enemy deployment zone from this result (min 0, max 6).
Tertiary : Place one objective in the centre of the board. The team that claims it at the end of the battle gains 4 battle points. If the objective is contested or unclaimed by both sides, each team gets 2 battle points.

Round 3
Deployment : Pitched Battle
Primary : Place one objective in the centre of the board. Each player then gets to place 1 objective on the board, for a total of 5 objectives. Each objective is worth 2 points.
Secondary : Each team needs to destroy as much as possible from their opponents. Calculate victory points using the full rules. Each team starts with 3 battle points. Add or subtract 1 battle point for each full 250 victory points in difference (min 0, max 6).
Tertiary : Kill your opponent’s HQs. The team that killed the most HQs gets 4 battle points. If none or an equal number of HQs were killed, each team gets 2 battle points. Each Independant characters in an HQ unit counts as 1 HQ. HQ units with a retinue count both the HQ and the retinue as a kill point. Unit that don’t take up a HQ slot but count as a HQ (emperor’s champion, greater summoned daemon, honor guard, ...) also count as an HQ for this mission objective. Members of a HQ unit that can be split off to join other units as an upgrade character (necron cryptecs) no longer count as an HQ when they do so.

The final 22 points can be earned with your painting results. During the tournament, one or more judges will have a look at your army and score it for painting. The other players will also be able to cast their vote on which army they think is best painted. Each player can nominate one model (of any type, including vehicles) and one unit to be scored for painting (worth half the painting score). If the rest of the army is also painted (at least 3 colors), the whole army will be scored for painting (worth the other half of the painting score). Armies should be WYSIWYG as much as possible.

Omdat je je lijst van de duos gebrukt verondertsel ik dat die vreemde lijsten zoals jouw all-mek toegelaten zijn. Ik zou graag eens kijken wat daar nog zoal in bestaat. Waar vind je dat soort speciuale lijsten terug? En als die speciale dingen mogen, mogen dan ook de speciale forgeworld stuff zoals wraithseers, shadowspectres, hornets, enz...

Ik ben zeker geïnteresseerd, maar voor de 29ste wacht ik nog even af tot wanneer ik weet om welk uur ik de 30ste examen heb .

Moet lukken om een paar avondjes mee te doen :p

Voorlopig zijn er nog maar weinig kandidaten voor de 29ste. Als er nog geïnteresseerden zijn die nog niets hebben laten weten, kunnen die dat dan eens doen zodat ik zicht krijg op hoeveel spelers we gaan uitkomen? Desnoods kunnen nog externe spelers aangesproken worden ...

maakt niet zo veel uit. liefst niet te laat. hoe rapper ik die krijg, hoe meer kans dat je kan spelen als we op een oneven aantal uit komen.

Het ziet er naar uit dat we de 29ste met 8 spelers gaan zijn (we gaan niet aan 12 geraken). Ik heb al 6 army lists binnen gekregen dus er zijn al 6 spelers definitief ingeschreven. De eerstvolgende twee spelers die mij hun army list bezorgen zullen kunnen deelnemen den 29ste, de rest komt op een reservelijst te staan ...
