"Lord Gordak! Lord Gordak!"
The old Lord looked up over his mug of ale resting on his belly, some of the foam had already lapped over into his finely woven beard, and a look of annoyance crossed his face. Many a winter had it been that any one had disturbed him in such an undwarven manner, stomping into the Great Hall of Ale in Kharak’Ad’Zim. He could see a young dwarf with a beard barely reaching to his knees run up to him.
“What is it lad, can’t you see I’m busy with important matters of state!”
Gordak shifted his behind on the golden throne where a gem was causing quite some discomfort from sitting here the better part of the day, and he watched, somewhat amused, by the youngling falling down in front of him.
“Lord, I bring ill tidings from the outlaying tunnels, our store rooms have been raided and the filthy scuming thieves got away with at least three years worth of ale.”
A deadly silence took hold of the Great Hall, for the news given by the young dwarf implied some very thirsty summers ahead if their treasure could not be recovered, Gordak raised his ample girth from his seat, both his hands clamping down upon his massive waraxe that was standing next to him.
“They will pay, be they greenskin, rats, or the servants of chaos themselves, we will hunt them down and make them bleed a gallon of blood for every gallon of beer stolen, send out word to the throng we gather and march before nightfall, track them down, send out our scouts, I want word of where those lowlifes are hiding and celebrating on OUR BEER!”
And so starts the Battle of Great Ale Revenge, a battle that will be talked about in hundreds of years when the lesser races have all but forgotten, Gordak will still be thinking about the day the throng of Kharak’Ad’Zim marched forth from the mountain, to recapture what was stolen.
A grudge will be settled Saturday 31/01/2009, or will be taken into the book of grudges for eternity.
