2 months ago, a mysterious black pyramid appeared floating in the sky of an imperial fortress planet near the hadex anomaly warp rift, designated Scutum Septimus. Superficial scryings revealed the pyramid is definitely warp-born, but it refuses to give up any more information regarding to its origin, nature, hypothetical contents and purpose.
However, the thing being a warp-construct is enough reason for the imperium to want it gone. A team consisting of several ministorum priests, sanctioned psykers and inquisitorial savants, led by the primaris psyker Mordecai Rookh, was dispatched to banish it back to the warp. However, their attempts have been continuously thwarted by a warband of eldar at large on the planet, the garrison of imperial guard powerless to find them, let alone stop them.
This is where the deathwatch comes in. Find and eliminate the eldar, and see the black pyramid banished back from whence it came.
Scutum Septimus is barely worthy of the title ‘planet’, and is closer to being a largish asteroid. It has very low gravity, and was chosen as a fortress location because of its strategic location and breathable atmosphere. It is barren, devoid of all life, and its only surface landmark is the fortress. The challenging part is the vast network of subterranean tunnels, permeating the whole planet even into its very core.
Before leaving on this mission, you may each raid the inquisitorial armories for equipment worth of 45 requisition total. Emperor be with you.
