The story so far Empty
BerichtOnderwerp: The story so far   The story so far Emptyzo feb 09, 2020 3:50 pm

Sessie 1 (31/01/2020):
The players are inadvertly caught up in a fight between 2 rival gangs, the Iron Skulls and the Crimson Dawn. When the dust settles, the Iron Skulls are wiped out, and the players turn out to be the only survivors.
Seeing an opportunity, the inquisitor Sebastian Lacroix recruits/pressgangs them into his investigation of the Crimson Dawn, whom he suspects are being backed by unknown heretical forces. The players are to pose as Iron Skull survivors, seeking revenge. Their first mission is to stir up the kettle by blowing up a  Crimson Dawn warehouse, which they use as their forward base of operations. The (now technically) inquisitorial acolytes are to meet with a local fixer named Mercurio, who will provide them with the warehouse's location and explosives.
After checking out their safehouse, the acolytes find Mercurio, gravely wounded. As it appears the local thugs he was planning on purchasing the explosives from have betrayed him, stole his money, stabbed him and left him for dead. He points them towards the place where he met with these thugs.
Mercurio does not know the location of the warehouse, but he knows who does: A twist by the name of Bertram Tung.

Sessie 2 (28/02/2020):
The acolytes set out towards the place where Mercurio's deal went wrong, and learn from the junkies hanging around the place where the explosives dealer, called 'the chemist' can be found. One of the junkies, Cassy, uses the opportunity to ask the acolytes to look for her missing friend, Lilly.
The acolytes decide to look for Lilly first, and after asking around learn that Vandal, the night nurse at the saint Monica hospital, was last seen talking to her. They work their way into the hospital by offering to help, and using his arbites authority, Phil manages to intimidate Vandal and his boss, doctor Malcolm Green, into coughing up what happended to Lilly. It turns out doctor Malcolm has been saving his patients with blood and organs harvested from from what he considers 'worthless human scum'. Faced with this moral dilemma, the acolytes decide that what dr. Malcolm is doing is a net positive in human lives saved, and look the other way, although not before blackmailing the doctor for their silence. They do take Lilly with them, who luckily had not yet been used as an unwilling donor. Jerricus gives Lilly some money in the hope she will use it to get her life on the rails again.
Grateful for finding their friend Lilly, Cassy points the acolytes towards a hidden tunnel that can be used to sneak into the chemist's hideout. Their surprise is blown however when Partheos drops an iron grate. In the fighting that ensues they dispatch all of the chemist's goons, and when the chemist realizes he is going to lose, he forces negotiations by threatening to blow the whole place up. After a few tense moments, the chemist leaves, and the acolytes retrieve the explosives. Spiteful because of a shotgun blast to the chest, Leo sets fire to the chemist's lab, causing the hideout to explode, and the chemist's dog along with it. Thus earning Leo the title of 'puppyslayer', and setting this story up for a John Wick style next chapter.

Sessie 3 (17/7/2020):
Now that they have the explosives, the acolytes still need the crimson dawn warehouse's location. Because nothing is ever easy, only a twist by the name of Bertram Tung knows this location, and Tung himself has vanished after Therese Voerman, baroness of the Twin Snakes, has put a price on his head. As it is pretty much impossible to find a twist who doesn't want to be found, a deal must be struck with Therese to get her to drop the bounty.
Therese is less than impressed with the acolytes's negotiation skills, but gives them the oportunity to prove their usefulness. A property she owns has become unsellable after rumours spread it had become warp haunted. She had sent some goons to check it out, but they haven't returned. Now that the opportunity presents itself, she sends the acolytes as some more expendable goons to take stock of the situation. Once inside the acolytes find that there is indeed something strange going on in there. Some would say the work of a talented con artist, others would say something plainly supernatural. Whilst stalking the hallways filled with portraits that seem alive, they encounter a silent robed figure. The man has no eyes, and attacks without saying a word with powers that can only be described as witchcraft. The battle is fierce and close, but eventually the acolytes overcome their enemy, although Jerricus gets gravely wounded in the process.

Sessie 4 (21/8/2020):
As Jerricus limps to the relative safety outside the building, the others are joined by Angela and press on. With considerable effort, they manage to make their way to the penthouse, where the grand maester awaits in his painted world. The battle once again tests the limits of the acolytes' abilities and mental resilience, but once again they prevail. The grand maester burns together with the massive painting that was his home, leaving behind only his paintbrush. The warp taint upon the item is obvious, and Angela only narrowly avoids getting possessed by it. When all efforts to destroy it fail, the acolytes take it to inquisitor Lacroix. Recognising the threat this item poses, Lacroix agrees taking it to him was the right call, and does not rebuke the acolytes for contacting him before the warehouse is destroyed.
